William Waller's Powder Horn
1775
Virginia rifleman William Waller carried this powder horn during the Revolutionary War. The horn is decorated with several popular slogans of the American Revolution, including “LIBERTY or DEATH” and “APPEAL TO HEAVEN.” Waller‘s unit served under General Washington’s command when the American army attempted to defend New York City against British forces in 1776.
